New generation deserves free education to save the planet
If you consider all the problems of the environment and society in general, he or she knows that qualified, well-educated people are probably the ones who will find effective solutions. It is very unlikely that the Baby Boomer Generation or Generation X will have solved the issue of climate change, the economy and international relations within the next twenty years. It is more likely that humanity needs several generations to repair the damage caused by the greed of some large companies and by the production of goods that are unfriendly to the environment. Moreover, prevention will be needed to ensure that no disasters occur and that larger countries get along. For all these reasons, young people deserve to receive free quality education that meets both their personal needs and those of society. Their education would not only meet the needs of business, but could also meet a greater need to save the planet. Without such quality education in schools (both online and physical schools), future generations will have to suffer as a result of the unintended - albeit negligent - mistakes of their ancestors.
Young people need education to ensure that their country's infrastructure is in excellent condition. Without this they are not prepared for the maintenance of bridges, highways and public property. For example, on August 14, 2018, the Morandi Bridge fell abruptly in Genoa, Italy, only one day before the Italian summer vacation known as "Ferragosto". One can only suspect that such a disaster could have been prevented if there had been expert experts to check the quality of the bridge. Therefore, well-trained people are needed to pick up the bridge pieces and ensure that future structures are safe.
Secondly, many world citizens have forgotten that a few generations ago people died of infectious diseases. All you have to do is look at genealogical data to discover that it was common to lose parents, children and family members to diseases such as the Spanish flu in 1918 and smallpox, which was eradicated in 1980. People have failed to study the history of immunization. Trained scientists need to be cultivated to investigate the effectiveness of the different vaccines and at the same time develop superior treatments that can be used in the future. More importantly, young experts are being armed to combat any diseases that may occur in the future.
In the meantime, most people have thought about global warming. Those who believe in its existence fear for the future of their children and grandchildren. Without having received satisfactory scientific training, people of all ages feel that their hands are tied. Many do not know how small changes can improve the climate. In addition, they want to change people in a powerful position to change production techniques to protect the earth. If no change comes about, young people want to improve their communication skills to bring about a radical change. Unfortunately, many potential defenders of nature cannot even afford to pay university degrees that would enable them to bring a convincing case to court.
It is striking that many professions have disappeared because they have been taken over by robots, artificial intelligence and other digital tools. This means that there is great demand for people to determine how the future economy will be structured to provide food, shelter and comfort to people who work fewer hours or who cannot find a position. Experts will be needed to help organize schedules involving individuals for enjoyable, humanitarian purposes, as well as artistic and leisure activities. Lifelong learning may become more important and people become more altruistic.
Last but not least, much still needs to be done in space and in the ocean. Of course, young people need opportunities to study fields such as oceanology, astronomy and biology without being overburdened with debt. Marine life must still be saved and protected against water pollution, while space waste must be carefully monitored. Natural resources must be protected, while different animal species must be cared for, even released into the environment.
Many people claim that students will not appreciate education if they do not have to pay a lot of money for it. Such people insist that students waste precious resources. Fortunately, some universities and even countries such as Germany have demonstrated that free education or very cheap education can produce effective results. Germany (2018) offers to train everyone who has been admitted to his university, but it should not be necessary that everyone moves to Germany to receive this benefit when many need it and want to continue working in their home country during their studies . Nevertheless, people nowadays earn considerably less money than in the 1960s if one takes into account inflation; therefore, families with two working parents cannot usually afford to pay the university degrees of their children, even if they so wish.
The unexplored, unread future remains a mystery that must be revealed. So it is possible that hard-working young people, well-equipped with quality education, will be the problem solvers and geniuses of the future. Such great spirits need not be wasted if young adults genuinely want to contribute to the greater good. They will turn the keys to the not so distant future once they have received the education they deserve, regardless of their religion, social status, belief, color, gender or nationality. Students can communicate in English internationally, provided they have the necessary tools and the ability to communicate their ideas. In addition, students could improve the universe by making sleek electric cars that are environmentally friendly, with the invention of useful tools, with the understanding that universal compassion beats war and with the possession of new scientific insight. That much can still be discovered by a well-educated society of young people who communicate freely and openly - optimistically longing for learning. Learning to make free for everyone, no matter how young or old, because it provides new solutions to problems that have not been solved in the past.
